Hi Friend,

Do you know what one of my students brought to school
yesterday? A mole! That's right-a live mole! It was in
a large container with a lid on it.

"Look, what I brought you, Ms. Kristi," Ava said
innocently.

Just before I lifted the lid, I heard a rustling inside and
jumped away, just sure that there must be a 100 ft
rattlesnake inside.

"It's just a little mole, Ms. Kristi," she whined. "It
doesn't bite. I already petted it on the bus."

I called her parents. One of them suggested that I let it
go on our playground!

Well, needless to say, the kids are all quite mad at me
because I marched that little guy up to the office and
insisted that the parent come get him immediately.

These ARE the kids that will be caring for us in the
nursing homes and running our government someday, you know.
Scary, huh? ;)
